Job summary

Runwood Homes is currently recruiting a Second Chef to join our Hospitality team. You will help deliver hotel and restaurant standard meals within our care homes, without split shifts.

We value warmth, motivation and passion for high standards to provide person-centred hospitality to residents. You will support the Head Chef in their absence and contribute to safe, nutritious and appealing meals, while following dietary and nutritional guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering environment.
• Understanding of special dietary and nutritional requirements.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 is essential; NVQ Level 2 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of food preparation to ensure resident wellbeing.
• Cook and serve meals in line with menu and company requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety & Hygiene Regulations (England/Northern Ireland).
• Maintain meal quality in presentation and taste.
• Follow portion control to minimise waste.
• Meet individual dietary requirements by following charts/recipes or adapting dishes.
• Maintain systems and checks for a safe, healthy working environment.
• Store all food and items correctly and monitor stock rotation.
