Job summary

Scottish Canals is seeking Destination Associates for Holiday Boat Handover/Turnaround at The Falkirk Wheel. Casual contracts with flexible hours,Spring to Autumn 2026 season. Training provided and uniform supplied to support welcoming customers and delivering 5-star experiences.

Role involves maintaining boats, moving them on turnaround days, and delivering friendly, professional service while following safety regulations. Weekend/bank holiday work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Holiday Boat Operations Manager to maintain hire boats and inventory.
• Assist with maintenance checks between trips.
• Carry out refuelling of boats.
• Ensure pump out and water tanks refill are carried out.
• Maintain external appearance of boats to a high standard.
• Drive the boats and understand the engine basics.
• Be part of the out-of-hours on-call team if applicable.
• Ensure boats are prepared to a high standard for customers.
• Maintain boat interiors and provide friendly service.
• Manage boat movement on turnaround days.
• Deliver 5-star customer service and ensure excellent customer care.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations pertaining to boat hire.
