Job summary

University Hospitals Dorset is seeking a Medical Same Day Emergency Care/AMU Ward Clerk in Bournemouth. NHS AfC: Band 2, 37.5 hours per week (full-time) with some weekend work and 12-hour shifts. Salary £25,272 per annum pro rata.

Fixed-term/permanent options with cross-site working potential. Base site is Bournemouth; duties include supporting ward operations, managing patient information, coordinating appointments and acting as a point of contact for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Numeracy (or equivalent).
• Experience in office/administration and customer-facing roles.
• Interest in healthcare/NHS environment.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with team members and other departments to ensure smooth ward operation.
• Manage notes for same-day patients and keep the diary up to date; liaise with patients regarding tests/appointments.
• Arrange for repair of faulty ward equipment and deliver post to patients; answer calls courteously.
