Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Newport that is committed to a positive and engaging learning environment. The school seeks a dedicated Science Teacher to join full-time on a long-term temporary basis with an immediate start.

You will plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, covering Biology, Chemistry and Physics, assess progress and support students of varying abilities to achieve their potential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a Science specialism.
• Experience delivering KS3 and KS4 Science lessons.
• Strong knowledge of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management.

Responsibilities

Salary: £172.98 - £210 per day

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated Science Teacher on a full-time, long-term temporary basis with an immediate start. The successful Science Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, covering Biology, Chemistry and Physics, assessing student progress, managing classroom behaviour and supporting students of varying abilities to achieve their full potential.

The successful Science Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status / QTS with a Science specialism (NQTs are welcome to apply)
• Experience teaching Science across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4
• Strong knowledge of the Science curriculum, including Biology, Chemistry and Physics
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A confident, adaptable and enthusiastic approach to teaching
