Job summary

TeacherActive is partnering with a mainstream secondary school in Newport to appoint a driven Science Teacher on a long-term temporary basis. The successful candidate will teach KS3 and KS4, including GCSE preparation, plan and deliver engaging lessons, and assess pupil progress to maximise outcomes.

The role requires QTS with a Science specialism, excellent classroom management, and confidence delivering safe practical lessons.

Qualifications

• QTS with a Science specialization required.

• Excellent classroom management is essential.
• Confident delivering safe, engaging practical lessons.
• Strong communication, organisational and lesson planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach Science across KS3/KS4, including GCSE preparation.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with schemes of learning.
• Assess pupil progress and provide feedback to support attainment.
• Contribute to department planning and curriculum delivery.

The Headteacher is looking to appoint a driven Science Teacher on a long-term temporary basis. The successful Science Teacher will teach across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4, including preparing pupils for their GCSE examinations. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, follow the school s schemes of learning and assess pupil progress to help students achieve their full potential.

The successful Science Teacher will have:

• QTS with a Science specialism

• Confidence delivering safe and engaging practical lessons
