Job summary

TeacherActive is supporting a mainstream secondary school in Newcastle to recruit a qualified Science Teacher for an immediate start on a long-term basis with potential to become permanent. You will plan, prepare and deliver engaging Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, while assessing progress and maintaining high standards of behaviour in line with the national curriculum.

QTS or ECTs are welcome to apply, and the role offers market leading rates of pay paid to scale via PAYE.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or ECTs welcome.
• Experience teaching Science in a UK secondary school.
• Strong knowledge across Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
• Experience planning, delivering and assessing Science lessons.

Salary: £165 - £250 per day (Paid to Scale)

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school based in Newcastle, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Science Teacher. The school provides education to secondary-aged students and is looking for an enthusiastic individual who can deliver engaging Science lessons while supporting students in achieving their academic potential.

The school is looking to take on a qualified Science Teacher for an immediate start on a long-term basis, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. The successful Science Teacher will be responsible for planning, preparing and delivering engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum, alongside marking, assessing student progress and maintaining high standards of classroom behaviour.

The successful Science Teacher will have:

Qualified Teacher Status / QTS (ECTs are also welcome to apply)

Experience teaching Science within a UK secondary school setting

Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry and Physics

Experience planning, delivering and assessing engaging Science lessons

Excellent classroom management and communication skills

A positive, adaptable approach with a passion for supporting student achievement
