Job description

We are looking for enthusiastic nurses from a variety of backgrounds and experience to join our team. School Staff Nurses manage a school nursing case load for a group of schools, with the support and supervision of Band 6 SCPHN School Nurses within a large skill mixed team. The team provides a universal and targeted school nursing service to mainstream primary and secondary schools, pupil referral units and special schools across the Bi-Borough.

  • Completing health assessments
  • Providing classroom teaching
  • Presenting to school staff about managing medical conditions
  • Holding a safeguarding caseload
  • Ensuring safe pathways of care for children in school with more complex medical conditions
  • Seeking to make the support that families receive as beneficial and positive an experience for them as possible
  • Committed to provide best outcomes for children through delivery of the Healthy Child Programme
  • Communicate effectively with our partners to work towards the best outcomes for children and their families.

The post holder will work in partnership with professionals from multiple agencies to meet the health needs of a specific population of children and young people within a group of schools, together with their families and the wider community where this is relevant. The Post holder will have sufficient post registration nursing experience in a children’s/Paediatric or adult setting and can demonstrate experience in effective multi agency working.
