Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is partnering with a North Yorkshire secondary school to appoint a capable School Site Manager who will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure safety, and maintain facilities. This permanent, full-time role offers hands-on responsibilities and independence in working with contractors to keep the site well-presented for students and staff.

This hands-on position requires a proactive, problem-solving mindset, strong organisational skills, and the ability to operate effectively

Qualifications

• Experience in site management, facilities management, or related practical role
• Understanding of premises maintenance, health and safety, compliance and site security
• Hands-on, can-do attitude with ability to identify problems and find effective solutions
• Strong organisation and time-management skills with ability to prioritise daily tasks
• Confidence coordinating maintenance activities and liaising with contractors
• Professional and approachable manner when working with staff and visitors
• Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to undergo checks
• Must be authorised to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations and facilities maintenance to ensure safe, presentable school environments
• Coordinate maintenance activities and quickly respond to site issues with practical solutions
• Liaise with contractors and school leadership to plan and execute routine and reactive works
• Maintain safety standards and compliance across buildings and grounds
• Support site security, safeguarding, and DBS-related requirements
