Job summary

Bangor Academy and 6th Form College is seeking a part-time Cook to support the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor in meal preparation and cooking. The role involves teamwork, hygiene control and some supervision of staff within a school kitchen.

Hours are 30 per week, with a pattern of work that includes weekdays. The post offers recognition for training and a focus on safe, high-quality meal provision for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a kitchen team.
• Understanding of HACCP and food safety practices.
• Willingness to undertake job-related training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and cooking of meals across the full menu.
• Record keeping and hygiene/health and safety in the kitchen.
• Supervision of staff and training where required.
• Assist with stock, menu planning and portion control.
• Promote the service to parents and customers as part of the unit.
