Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a School IT Support Technician for a permanent, full-time role in Chippenham, Wiltshire. You will provide first- and second-line IT support across classrooms and offices, troubleshoot hardware and software, manage user accounts and help maintain a secure digital environment for pupils and staff.

The role covers device rollouts, system maintenance, asset tracking and safeguarding checks, with occasional out-of-hours work paid as overtime or time off in lieu.

Qualifications

• Experience in educational IT support is preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot across hardware, software and networks.
• Familiarity with classroom technology and digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive day-to-day IT support for teachers, staff and students.
• Diagnose hardware, software and network faults in classrooms and offices.
• Set up, configure and deploy computers, laptops, iPads, and interactive display screens.
• Manage user accounts, permissions and access controls across school systems.
• Maintain inventory records and track school IT hardware and software assets.
• Support audio-visual equipment for assemblies, school productions and events.
• Assist with routine safeguarding filter checks and data backups.
• Log, update and track support tickets using a school helpdesk system.
