Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking an IT Support Technician for a Somerset school. You will maintain digital infrastructure, resolve issues swiftly and support staff and students in using classroom technology.

The role covers hardware, software, network troubleshooting, and AV support. Strong communication, calm problem solving, and organisation are essential. A permanent, on-site position with professional development opportunities is offered in this technology-driven school.

Qualifications

Background in IT, Computing or related discipline.
Experience troubleshooting Windows/Mac OS, MS Office 365 and Google Workspace.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

Respond to IT support tickets from staff and students, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network faults.
Install, configure, and update operating systems and classroom software on devices.
Manage user accounts (Active Directory/Google Workspace/Office 365) and assist with password resets.
Carry out routine hardware diagnostics, upgrades and minor repairs on school tech.
Set up and provide technical support for AV equipment during events and assemblies.
Keep accurate records of IT assets, licenses and deployments.
Support cybersecurity, backups and data protection across school networks.
