Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking an IT Technician for a forward-thinking secondary school in Buckinghamshire. You will provide 1st and 2nd line support to staff and students, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and maintain IT infrastructure across Windows, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory.

You will work under the Network Manager to ensure reliable IT services, with opportunities for technical training and career development in a modern school environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in IT support, helpdesk, or tech service desk environments.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and networking concepts.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and user-focused attitude when supporting staff and students.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support via the school helpdesk system.
• Maintain and deploy desktop PCs, laptops, tablets, and AV equipment.
• Administer user accounts and security settings across AD, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace.
• Assist with network maintenance, printer fleet management, and system backups.
• Maintain hardware and software asset register and manage stock/repairs.
• Support staff and students in using educational software and digital learning tools.
