Job summary

Inspired ICT Solutions Ltd is seeking an IT Support Engineer to deliver practical IT support to primary schools across Berkshire, North Hampshire and South Oxfordshire. The role blends home-based work during term time with on-site visits during holidays, and requires a full driver’s license and DBS check.

You will manage tickets, handle installations and project work, and administer Microsoft 365 services. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience providing IT support, ideally in a school, education setting or MSP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work with technical and non-technical users.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve problems calmly and efficiently.
• Ability to organise priorities, meet deadlines and work independently.
• Attention to detail and accurate technical documentation.
• Customer-focused, patient and helpful approach.
• Working knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft 365.
• Willingness to travel and DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and effective technical support to teachers, pupils, school technicians and senior leaders.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, Wi‑Fi and AV issues.
• Install, configure and maintain computers, software, servers, network equipment and related technology.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services and school IT systems.
• Manage support tickets, prioritise demands and keep users informed of progress.
• Document faults, solutions, configurations and completed work accurately.
• Complete site visits and contribute to planned installations, upgrades and school-holiday projects.
• Explain technical issues in clear, straightforward language.
• Follow safeguarding, data protection and information-security procedures.
• Maintain high professional and ethical standards; adapt as technology evolves.
