Job summary

Inspired ICT Solutions Ltd is seeking an IT Support Engineer to provide responsive, practical IT support to primary schools. You will resolve issues, contribute to installations and project work, and work mainly from home during term time with site visits as needed.

During school holidays, most work will be onsite at our schools. A DBS check and right to work in the UK are required; driving licence and travel are expected.

Qualifications

• Practical IT support experience, especially in education or schools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical users.
• Strong problem-solving and calm decision-making under pressure.
• Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines and work independently.
• Attention to detail and thorough technical documentation.
• Customer-focused and helpful approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and effective technical support to teachers, pupils, school technicians and senior leaders.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, Wi-Fi and audiovisual issues.
• Install, configure and maintain computers, software, servers, network equipment and related technology.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services and school IT systems.
• Manage support tickets, prioritise demands and keep users informed of progress.
• Document faults, solutions, configurations and completed work accurately.
• Complete site visits and contribute to planned installations, upgrades and school-holiday projects.
• Explain technical issues in clear, straightforward language.
• Follow safeguarding, data protection and information-security procedures.
