Job summary

St Peters CofE Academy invites applications for a Level 3 IT Solutions Technician Apprenticeship. The role provides hands-on experience supporting the Academy's IT systems to maintain a secure and efficient digital learning environment for staff and students.

You will work with experienced staff, help maintain IT infrastructure, and develop technical and customer service skills relevant to education technology. DBS checks and safeguarding responsibilities apply.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at 9-4 (old A*-C) or Level 2 Functional Skills.
• Computing degree or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems.
• Basic understanding of network infrastructures and wireless networks or willing to learn.
• Basic knowledge of cloud services.
• Ability to maintain high degree of customer service and communicate effectively with staff, students and outside agencies.
• Good technical skills.
• Good communication skills and able to respond helpfully and professionally to adults and young people.
• Knowledge of mobile devices including Apple and Android.
• Knowledge of Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Provide day to day IT support for Academy IT systems and teaching and learning.
• Operate the IT helpdesk system and log issues.
• Carry out routine IT tasks and activities as delegated by the Line Manager.
• Provide support for IT hardware, software, network and OS problems for staff and pupils.
• Assist in installing and maintaining Academy hardware including servers, workstations, projectors and printers.
• Assist teachers and pupils within classrooms with ICT as requested by line manager.
• Provide ICT support for Academy events and activities including staff training.
