Job summary

The King Alfred School is seeking an IT Service Desk Engineer to join our central IT service team. You will be the first point of contact for IT queries from our schools, triaging tickets and delivering timely, effective assistance both remotely and on-site.

You will work with Infrastructure Engineers and vendors to maintain Trust-wide systems, set up AV hardware, and ensure accurate documentation and asset management. A proactive, service-first attitude is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in an IT environment providing end-user support and troubleshooting.
• Ability to triage tickets via multiple channels (phone, email, web portal).
• Comfortable visiting school sites to provide onsite support and training.

Responsibilities

• Triage and resolve IT queries, aiming for first-time fixes.
• Troubleshoot issues in person and remotely; coordinate with vendors and engineers.
• Set up equipment, access permissions, and move hardware as needed.
• Document resolutions and maintain IT asset registers / service management records.
• Travel to schools within the trust to deliver hands-on support.
