The successful candidate will carry out routine inspections, minor repairs, and security checks, supporting daily operations and events while upholding safeguarding requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, facilities support or similar role.
• Good practical skills in general repairs and maintenance.
• Understanding of site security and safe working practices.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to recognise faults and report issues promptly.
• Willingness to complete safeguarding and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school premises in accordance with site procedures.
• Conducting routine inspections of buildings, grounds and access points.
• Completing general maintenance and minor repairs.
• Identifying defects and reporting specialist repair requirements.
• Maintaining playgrounds, pathways and external areas.
• Monitoring site security and reporting damage or concerns.
• Supporting health and safety checks and reporting hazards.
• Keeping corridors, entrances and communal areas clear and tidy.
• Assisting with room arrangements for school activities and events.
• Receiving deliveries and helping move equipment safely.
• Maintaining organised storage areas and ensuring tools are stored securely.
• Supporting contractor access and reporting maintenance issues.
• Monitoring the condition of fixtures, fittings and furniture.
• Following school policies, site procedures and safeguarding requirements.
