Marchant Recruitment is seeking a reliable School Caretaker in Upminster, Essex, to support daily operations and maintenance of a welcoming school environment. The role is part-time, three days per week, with working days discussed at interview; duties include site inspections, minor repairs, and assisting with opening and securing premises.

The successful candidate will help keep classrooms, corridors and outdoor areas safe and tidy, while following health and safety procedures and safeguarding

Qualifications

• Caretaking, maintenance or facilities experience preferred.
• Basic repairs and building maintenance knowledge.
• Awareness of site security and safety procedures.
• Good organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and ability to work with school staff.

Responsabilités

• Open and secure school premises as required.
• Carry out routine checks of buildings and external areas.
• Undertake minor repairs and general maintenance tasks.
• Identify and report maintenance issues and hazards.
• Check doors, windows, locks and access points for faults.
• Maintain clean, safe communal areas and assist with room setup.
