Job summary

Aspens Services seeks a passionate Chef Manager to take full operational and financial responsibility for a school catering facility. You will lead the kitchen team, develop menus, and drive profitability while delivering exceptional quality and service.

This role offers a Monday-to-Friday term-time schedule, 40 hours per week over 38 weeks per year, with a salary of £35,000 per annum. DBS disclosure will be sought to safeguard children and young people.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Gross Profit management and the ability to hit sales targets.
• Excellent craft skills with fresh ingredients to deliver quality food.
• Proven experience in line management and staff development.
• Good knowledge of health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Financial control: manage costs including stock, food and labour.
• Lead, coach, train and inspire kitchen team to deliver excellence daily.
• Oversee menu development and drive sales through monthly promotions and added-value events.
• Ensure standards, systems and legislation are met through audits and proactive management.
