Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking a dependable Caretaker for a school in Lambeth to help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment across the site. You will work closely with the school office and leadership team to ensure premises are ready for the school day and any activities outside normal lessons.

Qualifications

• Previous caretaking, handyperson or facilities experience is essential.
• Experience in a school or public-facing environment would be an advantage.
• Understanding of safe working practices and site security.
• Enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful applicant.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily checks of buildings, grounds and access points.
• Open and secure the site as required.
• Undertake basic DIY, repairs and general maintenance.
• Identify hazards and report faults promptly.
• Keep outdoor areas, entrances and pathways tidy.
• Assist with furniture moves and classroom or hall setups.
• Support contractors and monitor on-site work.
• Follow health and safety, fire safety and safeguarding procedures.
