Job summary

The role involves opening and securing buildings, routine site inspections, minor repairs and setting up rooms for events. An enhanced DBS check will be required, and you should be comfortable working independently or as part of a team at a busy school.

Qualifications

• Previous caretaking, maintenance or facilities experience is essential, ideally within a school or similar busy environment.
• An enhanced DBS check will be required.
• You will understand site security and health and safety considerations.

Responsibilities

• Open and secure the school buildings and grounds.
• Carry out routine site inspections and health and safety checks.
• Complete minor repairs and general maintenance tasks.
• Monitor classrooms, corridors, toilets and outdoor areas.
• Set up rooms and move furniture for activities and events.
• Report larger repairs and arrange access for contractors.
• Keep pathways and external areas tidy and hazard-free.
• Respond promptly to maintenance issues and security concerns.
