Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) is seeking a Building Supervisor to manage cleaning and non-cleaning services under the direction of the line manager. The role includes security, mechanical and electrical systems oversight, and coordinating cleaning staff to meet Education Authority standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for securing the premises, operating alarms and cameras, and supervising changes in work procedures to ensure efficiency and safety across school

Responsibilities

• Security of the premises (including school meals accommodation) and its contents.
• Open and close the premises and grounds, except as authorised to others.
• Ensure all windows, doors and gates are locked at the end of each day.
• Safe custody and allocation of keys to cleaning staff; return at end of day.
• Operate and monitor security camera system and report faults.
• Operate fire and burglar alarms and report faults.
• Attend after-hour issues and ensure premises are secure and cleaned when cleared.
• Report any suspicious activity to the designated line manager.
• Report security breaches as per policy.
