Job summary

Eani in Dungannon seeks a Building Supervisor (with no supervision) to manage cleaning and non-cleaning tasks under the line manager. Responsibilities include security, maintenance, and coordinating cleaning staff within a school environment.

Essential criteria cover six months’ school-based experience, key-holder duties, and strong teamwork, communication, and administrative skills. Training and adherence to safety regulations are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Experience – Have a minimum of six months’ demonstrable experience working as an assistant building supervisor and/or building supervisor and/or caretaker and/or cleaner in a school environment.
• As a key holder, be prepared to respond to call outs at short notice, including during unsociable hours.
• The requirements of a School Building Supervisor (with no supervision), Health and Safety regulations and requirements relevant to the role, Manual Handling regulations, Use of security systems.
• Evidence of ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven effective administrative, planning and decision-making skills to meet deadlines.
• Evidence of how your experience and approach to work reflect the school’s values/ethos.

Responsibilities

• Security of the premises and its contents, including opening and closing the premises and grounds.
• Operate security camera system and building security systems; report faults.
• Attend after-hour incidents and ensure premises are secure after clearance.
• Maintain safety by applying grit/rock salt in snow/frost; report suspicious activity.
• Efficient operation of heating, lighting, and maintenance of premises and school meals accommodation.
• Plan, organise and control cleaning staff; undertake cleaning duties as needed.
• Prepare reports on cleaning and defects; maintain records and paperwork.
