Job summary

Willowbrook Mead Primary Academy in Leicester is seeking a dedicated Family Support Worker to work within our pastoral team. You will build trust with children and families, carry out home visits, support attendance and behaviour, and coordinate with teachers and external agencies to remove barriers to learning.

The role requires safeguarding knowledge, resilience, and excellent communication. You will signpost families to services, contribute to meetings, and help create nurturing, inclusive

Qualifications

• Experience working directly with vulnerable children, young people and families.
• Ability to de-escalate conflict calmly and effectively.
• Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
• Experience attending CIN/CP/Core Group and multi-agency meetings.
• Experience using CPOMS or similar safeguarding systems.

Responsibilities

• Build positive and trusting relationships with children and families.
• Carry out home visits and support families in their home environment.
• Lead and participate in family meetings and support planning.
• Be a welcoming point of contact for families through daily meet and greet activities.
• Deliver one-to-one interventions and direct work with children.
• Support attendance, behaviour, emotional wellbeing and safeguarding outcomes.
• Maintain high-quality records using CPOMS and other school systems.
• Work with teachers, SEND staff and school leaders to coordinate support.
• Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings such as CIN/CP/Core Group.
