Job summary

School-Home Support seeks a Family Support Practitioner based at Woodlands Primary School, Sheffield, to deliver casework improving educational outcomes and attendance for children and families. This term-time role is 35 hours per week plus inset days, with a fixed salary band and DBS checks.

You will collaborate with school staff to promote engagement in learning, support attendance, and address factors affecting a child’s capacity to learn.

Qualifications

• Experience in an education setting or similar to improve a child’s school attendance and engagement
• Experience engaging with parents/carers and children through individual or group-based support
• Understanding of safeguarding processes and referral routes for safeguarding children

Responsibilities

• Deliver a programme of casework to promote and improve educational outcomes for the children and families supported
• Work in close partnership with school staff to support attendance, punctuality and engagement in learning
• Build strong relationships with families and schools to enable holistic family support
• Maintain safeguarding and welfare standards in line with statutory responsibilities
