A leading provider of supported accommodation in Cardiff is seeking full-time and part-time staff to support individuals dealing with complex needs related to alcohol and substance use. Candidates should have a valid driver's license and experience engaging diverse clients. Responsibilities include direct support, wellbeing checks, and maintaining safety. The role involves a competitive salary and a strong benefits package, including enhanced DBS checks, holiday entitlement, and wellbeing support.
It is essential that the successful candidate holds a valid driver’s licence and has access to a car. Dyfrig House operates multiple services between Cardiff Central and Newport Road and you will be required to work across these locations.
Dyfrig House provides supported accommodation for homeless people who are motivated to address their problematic alcohol and substance use issues.
We support these individuals by engaging them in recovery & treatment services and by providing housing‑related support so that they can live independently.
Dyfrig House works with Pobls treatment services as well as local recovery services to support people on their journey to recovery and facilitate a positive move on into independent living. Some of the individuals we support have been involved in the criminal justice system so this is a good opportunity to support people to make positive life changes.
This is an active and engaging role where no two days are the same and you will be supporting individuals with challenging and complex needs.
Our aim is to ensure we equip individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role as this service delivers intensive support around each client’s recovery before focus is put on the housing‑related support and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse, anti‑social behaviour and offending behaviour.
You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours and each client will be in a different stage in their recovery journey so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse clientele.
Part of your role will also include sleep‑in shifts at the scheme where you will be provided with a secluded area that includes a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen facilities.
Interviews are scheduled to take place on Friday 12 December.
At Pobl Group we are guided in all that we do by a group of principles that we call FREDIE – Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, Engagement. This means that whatever your background you will have an equal opportunity at Pobl Group and we encourage you to apply now.
