Job summary

Codi Group in Wales is seeking a Scheme Support Officer at Ty Trosiad, Newport. This permanent role comes in full-time (37hrs) or part-time (18.5hrs) with a rolling rota including days, evenings and weekends; sleep-in shifts include an additional £62.64 sleep-in payment.

You will be responsible for health and safety, monitoring who comes and goes, and being the point of contact for clients needing advice, support or a chat.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the health & safety of the building and monitoring who is in the scheme.
• Being the point of contact for clients seeking advice, support, or someone to talk to.
• Supporting staff in tenancy management and health and wellbeing workshops.
• Engaging with people we support and assisting with cleaning and upkeep of rooms and communal areas.
• Handling sleep‑in shifts as part of the scheme duties.

A full-time (37hrs) and part-time (18.5hrs), permanent, Scheme Support Officer positions in a supported housing service, Ty Trosiad, Newport. You will be required to work on a rolling rota which includes days, evenings, weekend availability and sleep-in shifts (additional £62.64 sleep-in payment), this role also involves lone working.

About the role

Ty Trosiad is a 10 bed supported housing service for people with long term, complex needs and here we support people with mental health issues, substance misuse and a history of not coping with managing their own tenancy. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking for a rewarding role where you would be responsible for ensuring the health & safety of the building, monitoring people coming to and leaving the scheme, and being the point of contact for our clients, whether they need advice, support, or somebody to talk to.

Day to Day Duties:

• Engaging and interacting with the people we support
• Supporting Project Workers in delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
• Ensuring the building is secure including health & safety checks and maintaining an awareness of who is in the building
• Dealing with challenging behaviours
• Addressing any additional needs, the people we support might have
• Supporting the people we support with cleaning their room and cleaning the scheme communal areas.

Part of your role includes sleep-in shifts at the scheme, you will be provided with a secluded area that includes a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen facilities.

To be a great Scheme Support Officer, you don’t always need previous experience or qualifications. Awareness of issues faced by people at risk of homelessness would be extremely useful in the role.
