Job summary

Tai Pawb is seeking a Scheme Support Officer for a full-time role in our Supported Accommodation service in Newport. You will join a team of Lead Project Workers, Project Workers and Scheme Support Officers, delivering 24/7 housing-related support to residents aged 18+.

Using a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) and collaboration with external agencies, you will run meaningful activities and workshops to help residents build the knowledge, skills and tools to live independently.

Qualifications

• Relevant work experience and knowledge of issues relating to vulnerable people is essential.
• More important are;
• An enthusiasm and passion for making a difference to people’s lives; a strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player; ability to deal with conflicting and difficult situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 support to residents in the Supported Accommodation scheme.
• Deliver meaningful activities/workshops using a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE).
• Work with external agencies to support residents’ housing-related needs.
• Equip residents with knowledge, skills and tools to live independently.

Job description

One full-time Scheme Support Officer in a Supported Accommodation scheme in Newport. The working pattern can vary between days, sleep-ins and weekend/bank holiday availability.

About the role

This is a Scheme Support Officer role based in our Supported accommodation service, In2Change, Newport. We have a team of Lead Project Workers, Project Workers & Scheme Support Officers. Providing 24/7 Support to our diverse group of customers.

Working in a team, you will provide support to a diverse range of people (18+). All are from various backgrounds, currently experiencing trauma and having complex needs. These can range from alcohol or substance misuse, mental health, anti-social behaviour. Through using a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) & working with external agencies, you will help provide deliver meaningful activities/workshops. Alongside providing housing related support to equip our customers with the knowledge, skills and tools that they need to be able to live independent lives.

Skills and Experience Needed
