Job summary

Version 1 is seeking a Senior User Researcher with SC clearance to lead user research across public sector projects. You will shape services, mentor colleagues, and ensure evidence drives decision-making within multidisciplinary teams.

You will engage with clients, senior stakeholders, and delivery teams, advancing accessibility and inclusive design practices in line with GOV.UK patterns and the Digital Service Standard.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a researcher leading digital service projects in Agile environments.
• Strong knowledge of UK public sector service design and GOV.UK patterns.
• End-to-end research from design to synthesis into actionable insights.
• Broad methodological expertise across qualitative and quantitative methods.
• Strong consultancy skills and senior stakeholder engagement.
• Experience mentoring colleagues and shaping research strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver user research for complex projects, informing product and strategy decisions.
• Engage in client meetings, workshops, and presentations with actionable recommendations.
• Build strong client relationships and drive outcomes aligned with user needs and business goals.
• Mentor junior researchers and foster a collaborative team environment.
