Zero Surplus is seeking a Sales, Marketing & Data Analyst to be the central data and insight lead for pricing, sales, campaigns and strategy across UK regions and product lines. You’ll transform a wealth of data into actionable guidance for senior management.
The role splits roughly 40% hands-on analytics and 60% partnering with the commercial team, building forecasting models and dashboards in Power BI, Tableau or Looker Studio, and shaping the new CRM hub with the IT lead.
We're working on a retained basis with an established business in Colchester to find a Sales, Marketing & Data Analyst. Part of a wider European group, they're bringing several acquired businesses together and investing in the systems behind them. This is a brand new role reporting directly into senior management.
You'd be the central data and insight role for the marketing, commercial and senior leadership teams, guiding decisions on pricing, sales, campaigns and strategy across UK regions, customer demographics and product lines. There's a wealth of data in the business, with more arriving from acquisitions into a single CRM hub, and nobody currently turning it into insight.
The split is roughly 40% hands-on with the data and 60% working with the commercial team. You'll track the KPIs, build forecasting models, measure campaign performance and customer journeys, and build dashboards in Power BI, Tableau or Looker Studio, as well as helping shape the new CRM hub alongside the IT lead.
This isn't a reporting role. They need someone who goes looking, spots the opportunity nobody asked about, and persuades a room full of commercial people to act on it. As a brand new position, it will take shape as you settle in, so a flexible, proactive approach matters as much as the technical skill.
It's a good moment to join. The business is acquiring, investing and building a UK operation designed to grow, with the backing of an established European group, and you'd be reporting straight into senior management with visibility from day one.
The holiday is excellent too: a generous 7 weeks paid a year, including bank holidays. It follows a set annual calendar, taken as one week at Easter, four weeks in August and two weeks at Christmas.
Due to the location of the offices, this position will suit those commuting from areas such as Colchester, Ipswich, Sudbury, Halstead, Braintree, Witham, Chelmsford, Manningtree, Clacton‑on‑Sea, Maldon and Bury St Edmunds.
