Zero Surplus in Colchester is seeking a Sales, Marketing & Data Analyst to be the central data and insight voice for pricing, sales campaigns and strategy across UK regions. You'll work with the marketing, commercial and senior leadership teams to turn raw data into actionable insight from a single CRM hub.

This is a 40/60 split between hands-on analysis and partnering with commercial teams. You'll build forecasting models, KPIs, and dashboards in Power BI, Tableau or Looker Studio, and help

Formación

• 1–5 years in a commercial, sales or marketing analytics role, ideally B2B, e-commerce, consumer services or agency
• Able to demonstrate analysis that changes decisions, not just reports
• Advanced Excel with pivot tables and data modelling capabilities
• Experience building dashboards in Power BI, Tableau or Looker Studio and familiarity with CRM data (Salesforce or Dynamics 365)
• Forecasting and campaign measurement experience is highly valued

Sales, Marketing & Data Analyst

We're working on a retained basis with an established business in Colchester to find a Sales, Marketing & Data Analyst. Part of a wider European group, they're bringing several acquired businesses together and investing in the systems behind them. This is a brand new role reporting directly into senior management.

The Role

You'd be the central data and insight role for the marketing, commercial and senior leadership teams, guiding decisions on pricing, sales, campaigns and strategy across UK regions, customer demographics and product lines. There's a wealth of data in the business, with more arriving from acquisitions into a single CRM hub, and nobody currently turning it into insight.

The split is roughly 40% hands-on with the data and 60% working with the commercial team. You'll track the KPIs, build forecasting models, measure campaign performance and customer journeys, and build dashboards in Power BI, Tableau or Looker Studio, as well as helping shape the new CRM hub alongside the IT lead.

This isn't a reporting role. They need someone who goes looking, spots the opportunity nobody asked about, and persuades a room full of commercial people to act on it. As a brand new position, it will take shape as you settle in, so a flexible, proactive approach matters as much as the technical skill.

What We're Looking For

• 1 to 5 years in a commercial, sales or marketing analytics role, ideally B2B, e-commerce, consumer services or agency
• A track record of analysis that changed decisions, not just reported on them
• Advanced Excel, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP and data modelling
• Power BI, Tableau or Looker Studio, plus familiarity with GA4 and CRM data such as Salesforce or Dynamics 365
• Forecasting and campaign measurement experience is a strong advantage
• An excellent communicator, persuasive and collaborative, curious and self-motivated
• A full UK driving licence and your own transport, as the office is not easily reached by public transport
• Happy to be office-based while you bed in, with hybrid working considered after an initial period

• The holiday is excellent too: a generous 7 weeks paid a year, including bank holidays. It follows a set annual calendar, taken as one week at Easter, four weeks in August and two weeks at Christmas.

Due to the location of the offices, this position will suit those commuting from areas such as Colchester, Ipswich, Sudbury, Halstead, Braintree, Witham, Chelmsford, Manningtree, Clacton-on-Sea, Maldon and Bury St Edmunds.
