Sales Director / Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)

Advanced Gas Detection Technology | Energy & Agriculture

Upto £130,000 + equity + significant commission

Remote-first | South West offices

The Opportunity

Mploy Group is partnering with a high-growth technology business operating at the intersection of advanced sensing, environmental intelligence, and emissions management.

The company has developed a proprietary gas detection platform already deployed in live operational environments, with growing traction across energy infrastructure and large-scale agricultural applications. As the business enters its next phase of commercial growth, it is looking to strengthen senior commercial leadership with an immediate or near-term appointment.

We are seeking a Sales Director or Chief Commercial Officer who can step in quickly, take ownership of the commercial agenda, and build momentum across an existing sales function.

The Role

This role combines strategic commercial leadership with hands‑on ownership of revenue performance.

You will be responsible for leading and accelerating an established sales organisation, sharpening focus, structure, and execution to support short- and medium‑term growth objectives.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Owning and executing the commercial and revenue strategy
  • Leading, motivating, and developing an existing sales team
  • Refining route‑to‑market approaches across Energy and/or Agriculture
  • Driving complex, consultative sales cycles with senior technical, operational, and executive stakeholders
  • Strengthening value propositions for technically complex solutions
  • Developing and refining pricing models, deal structures, and commercial frameworks
  • Working closely with product, engineering, and leadership teams to align commercial strategy with product roadmap
  • Acting as the senior commercial voice at leadership, partner, and investor level
About You

You are a senior commercial leader with experience scaling and optimising existing sales functions in technically complex markets.

You are likely to bring:

  • A proven track record selling into Energy, Environmental, Industrial, or Agri‑tech sectors
  • Experience commercialising hardware‑led, sensor‑based, or deep‑tech solutions
  • Senior leadership experience as a Sales Director, Commercial Director, VP Sales, or CCO
  • The ability to make an immediate impact within an established team
  • Confidence operating across long, high‑value enterprise sales cycles
  • A strategic mindset combined with hands‑on leadership and deal ownership

Immediate availability, or a short notice period, is strongly preferred.
