Job summary

Wolseley Group's Plumb Centre in Salford is seeking a Sales Assistant to help customers at the trade counter, offer product recommendations and respond to queries. The role is based in Salford and involves occasional weekend shifts.

The position is full-time, 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday 8:30am–5:00pm with some Saturdays 8:00am–12:00pm. A competitive salary (£26,695) plus bonus and extensive benefits are included, along with ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous face to face customer service or sales experience is essential.
• Prior industry or trade experience is advantageous.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and to take on a diverse role.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their needs and providing product recommendations.
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone and email promptly and courteously.
• Proactively contacting customers to build relationships and drive branch sales.
• Assisting with general warehouse duties including picking, packing, unpacking deliveries and manual handling of heavy items.
• Ensuring high standards are maintained in the branch.

As a Sales Assistant based in Salford you'll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Proactively contacting customers to build relationships and drive branch sales particularly focusing on customers with reduced or inactive spending
• Assisting with general warehouse duties including picking & packing customer orders, unpacking and putting away deliveries which will involve manual handling of heavy items e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets
• Ensuring high standards are maintained in the branch

This is a full time permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday - Friday between 08.30am - 5.00pm and the occasional Saturday 08.00am - 12.00pm.
