Job summary

Plumb Centre, part of the Wolseley Group, is recruiting a Sales Assistant in Salford to service customers at the trade counter, understand their needs and recommend products to drive branch sales.

This full-time role offers 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri 08:30–17:00, with occasional Sat 08:00–12:00). Competitive salary (£26,695) plus bonus and a range of benefits including pension, holiday allowance and discounts.

Qualifications

• Previous face-to-face customer service or sales experience is essential.
• Willingness to work as part of a team and take on a diverse role.
• Proactive and eager to learn with a strong work ethic.
• Great communication skills for phone and email enquiries.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing product recommendations.
• Respond to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude.
• Proactively contacting customers to build relationships and drive branch sales.
• Assist with general warehouse duties including picking & packing customer orders, unpacking deliveries and handling heavy items.
• Ensure high standards are maintained in the branch.

As a Sales Assistant based in Salford you'll be responsible for:

• Serving customers on the trade counter by understanding their specific needs and providing product recommendations
• Responding to customer enquiries via phone & email promptly and courteously, with a proactive attitude
• Proactively contacting customers to build relationships and drive branch sales particularly focusing on customers with reduced or inactive spending
• Assisting with general warehouse duties including picking & packing customer orders, unpacking and putting away deliveries which will involve manual handling of heavy items e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks and toilets
• Ensuring high standards are maintained in the branch

This is a full time permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday - Friday between 08.30am - 5.00pm and the occasional Saturday 08.00am - 12.00pm.
