Job summary

EC Resourcing Ltd is sourcing a Sales Advisor/Estimator for a client based in rural South Cambridge. The role starts with order processing and customer support and offers on-the-job training to progress to full quoting and estimating.

You will develop specialist product knowledge as you work with the team and their wider range. Ideal candidates enjoy helping customers, have a proactive approach to follow-up, and will need their own transport to reach the rural location.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a customer-facing sales role.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Comfortable using PC software and a professional telephone manner.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Proactive quotation follow-up and cross-selling abilities.
• Good organisational skills and team collaboration.
• Experience in trade, construction, hardware or building products.
• Familiarity with CRM or sales systems.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound enquiries from customers by telephone and email, providing accurate and timely quotations.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities within customer enquiries and quotations, proactively introducing relevant products.
• Support the sales team with overflow call handling and order processing during busy periods.
• Follow up quotations that have not converted to orders, contacting customers to progress opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of quotation activity on the company system; updating customer notes.
• Send samples and product information to customers.
• Attend internal product and sales meetings to stay up to date with the range.
• Build product knowledge over time to handle more technical customer enquiries and spot cross-selling opportunities with confidence.
• Working closely with the sales team to support customers through the quotation and order process.
