An established healthcare practice in Manchester is seeking a salaried GP to join their team, working between 4 to 6 sessions per week for a 3-month contract potentially leading to a permanent position. The role involves general practice responsibilities, including patient consultations, clinical management, and participation in continuous improvement activities. We are looking for a salaried GPs to join our established team working between 4 and 6 sessions per week for a 3 month contract which could go permanent.
In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care namely:
Take accountability for the highest standards andprofessional decision making in relation to presenting problems, whetherself-referred or referred from other health care workers across the practice /PCN.
Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs ofillness.
Cover all the clinical management of the patients in surgeryas appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, makingreferrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate.
Develop care and treatment plans in consultation withpatients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols as wellwider guidance such as that from NICE.
Ensure appropriate follow up of patients.
Record clear and immediate consultation notes to agreedstandards within clinical systems.
Actively participate in clinical audits, learning events andpractice meetings, within a culture of continuous improvement.
Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeatprescriptions avoiding hand-written prescriptions.
Prescribe generically whenever appropriately and inaccordance with the Practice prescribing formulary, NICE guidance and GoodPrescribing Practice (as defined by British National Formulary guidance).
Work with and provide support for other members of theprimary health care team.
Surrey Lodge Group Practice is a thriving practice with an interesting& diverse population of around 10,000 patients. We have a strong andexperienced GP team with 2 partners and 7 salaried GPs. We have a veryexperienced nursing team and a varied health care team including a clinicalpharmacist, pharmacy technician, dietician, focussed care worker, mental healthpractitioner and First Contact Physio. The team has a variety of specialinterests, including Pain Management (GPwSI level), LARC, MSK medicine,Diabetes, Palliative Care and Travel Medicine. We are keen to support anyspecialist interests that you may have or are keen to pursue.
