The post-holder will deal with a wide range of health needs ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
You will play an important role in ensuring an integrated and focussed provision relevant to the differing needs of the patient population and be part of the multi-disciplinary team providing a full range of primary medical services.
The post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations, online consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, referrals, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
To participate in ensuring that the practice is delivering its contractual and statutory obligations.
In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Job Summary
To work as an autonomouspractitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to thepractice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilstcomplying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere tothe GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effectivemanagement of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive,collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.

Primary Responsibilities
Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be onoccasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent uponfactors such as workload and staffing levels:
a.The delivery of highly effective medical care to theentitled population
b.The provision of services commensurate with the GMScontract
c.Generic prescribing adhering to local and nationalguidance
d.Effective management of long-term conditions
e.Processing of administration in a timely manner,including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associatedadministrative tasks
f.On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage andduty doctor roles
g.Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction withgood practice, policy and guidance
h.Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share ofthe practice workload
i.Adhere to best practice recommended through clinicalguidelines and the audit process
j.Contribute to the successful implementation of continuousimprovement and quality initiatives within the practice
k.Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (orareas) or the QOF
l.Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetingsas required
m.Contribute effective to the development and maintenanceof the practice including; clinical governance, training, financialmanagement and HR
n.Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
o.Prepare and complete the revalidation process
p.Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos ofcontinuing professional development across the practice team
q.Support the training of medical students from allclinical disciplines
r.Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims ofthe practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
s.Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies atall times
t.Encourage collaborative working, liaising with allstaff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times
Secondary Responsibilities
Inaddition to the primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be requestedto:
a.Participate in practice audits as requested by theaudit lead
b.Participate in local initiatives to enhance servicedelivery and patient care
c. Participate in thereview of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approachi.e. root cause analysis (RCA)
