Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a safety-focused Permit to Work Administrator to support compliant operations across the AstraZeneca site in Macclesfield. You will manage permit-to-work activities, support fire safety requirements and ensure all work complies with GMP/GxP standards.

This full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week with shifts across early, mid, and late slots. You will work with contractors, perform site inspections, maintain records and promote safe working practices across the site.

Qualifications

• Experience in Facilities Management or site operations within a regulated environment.
• Good knowledge of permit-to-work systems and Safe Systems of Work.
• Understanding of risk assessments and how to complete, review and use to support permit authorisations.
• Strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills.
• Excellent computer literacy with desired knowledge of using CAFM systems.

Responsibilities

• Issue and manage permits for high-risk work, including hot works, confined spaces and working at height.
• Check Safe Systems of Work, risk assessments and isolations before authorising activities.
• Maintain permit registers and complete site compliance checks.
• Conduct weekly fire alarm tests and maintain accurate records.
• Act as a Fire Marshal and support evacuations, drills and fire safety inspections.
• Safely receive, inspect, store, transport and connect gas cylinders.
• Support contractors, site inspections, hazard reporting and compliance audits.
• Promote safe working practices and continuous improvement across the site.
