Job summary

Mitie is seeking a safety-focused Permit to Work Administrator to support the AstraZeneca site. You will manage permit-to-work activities, assist fire safety requirements, and ensure compliance with GMP/GxP standards.

Role involves issuing permits, maintaining registers, and acting as Fire Marshal while coordinating with contractors and site teams for continuous safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in Facilities Management or site operations within a regulated environment.
• Understanding of risk assessments and how to complete, review and use to support permit authorisations.
• Strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills.
• Excellent computer literacy with knowledge of using CAFM systems.

Responsibilities

• Issue and manage permits for high-risk work, including hot works, confined spaces and working at height.
• Check Safe Systems of Work, risk assessments and isolations before authorising activities.
• Maintain permit registers and complete site compliance checks.
• Conduct weekly fire alarm tests and maintain accurate records.
• Act as a Fire Marshal and support evacuations, drills and fire safety inspections.
• Safely receive, inspect, store, transport and connect gas cylinders.
• Support contractors, site inspections, hazard reporting and compliance audits.
• Promote safe working practices and continuous improvement across the site.

You will manage permit-to-work activities, support fire safety requirements, handle gas cylinders safely and ensure all work complies with statutory regulations, AstraZeneca SHE policies and GMP/GxP standards.
