AstraZeneca in Macclesfield is seeking a Director – Process Safety to provide senior leadership for COMAH Lower Tier compliance, DSEAR, MAH risk management and fire safety strategy. You will serve as the named Process Safety voice at site leadership, coordinating with HSE COMAH inspectorate, Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service, and the corporate insurer.

Qualifications

Degree in chemical engineering, process safety, or related field.
Significant Process Safety leadership at COMAH sites.
Regulator-facing credibility with HSE COMAH inspectorate.
Strong knowledge of UK Process Safety frameworks (COMAH, DSEAR).
Chartered IChemE Process Safety Engineer or equivalent.
Track record leading Process Safety programmes through the capital project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Hold director-level accountability for COMAH Lower Tier on the campus, MAH risk management, and safety governance.
Lead and develop the Process Safety team and 24/7 response capability.
Oversee COMAH inspection programme and Safety Report custodianship.
Govern campus fire safety strategy with external partners and insurers.
Sponsor SIMT exercise programme and post-incident learning workflows.
