Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a safety-focused Permit to Work Administrator to support compliant operations across the AstraZeneca site in Macclesfield. You will manage permit-to-work activities, support fire safety requirements, handle gas cylinders safely and ensure all work complies with regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities management or site operations within regulated environments.
• Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and Safe Systems of Work.
• Ability to assess risks and support permit authorisations.
• Strong communication and meticulous record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Issue and manage permits for high-risk work, including hot works, confined spaces and working at height.
• Check Safe Systems of Work, risk assessments and isolations before authorising activities.
• Maintain permit registers and complete site compliance checks.
• Conduct weekly fire alarm tests and maintain accurate records.
• Act as a Fire Marshal and support evacuations, drills and fire safety inspections.
• Safely receive, inspect, store, transport and connect gas cylinders.
• Support contractors, site inspections, hazard reporting and compliance audits.
• Promote safe working practices and continuous improvement across the site.
