Job summary

Ministry of Justice is recruiting for a functional management role within the Residence and Safety function of an establishment. The post holder will lead a number of work areas including Residential units, Care and Separation Unit, First Night and Induction, Safer Custody and Violence Reduction.

As part of the Senior Management Team, you will implement the function’s objectives in the business plan. This is an operational role with line management responsibilities and hybrid working

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and line-management of multi-disciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage complex functional areas and deliver via SDIs.
• Experience implementing Safeguarding and Safer Custody policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Function within the establishment, delivering against the business plan.
• Chair adjudications as Duty Governor when required.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and risk assessments are in place.
• Oversee budgets and financial procedures and reporting.
• Support and promote restorative justice and victim-prisoner conferencing when commissioned.
