Job summary

Ministry of Justice, National Probation Service, Midlands region, seeks an Approved Premises (AP) Manager to lead the AP team at a designated site. You will oversee risk management of residents, ensure safety for staff, residents, the public and premises, and align practice with national standards.

The role demands strong leadership, strategic resource management, and collaboration with partners. You will participate in out-of-hours standby duties and support other teams as needed while

Qualifications

• Substantial experience with a proven record of good practice in a variety of settings (including offender risk assessment and management) as a Probation Officer or from working within another criminal justice agency or related work context.
• Experience of risk management and assessment.
• Ability to implement the services health and safety policies.
• Experience of working flexibly as a member of a team to achieve performance targets and to contribute to effective administration and information systems.
• Demonstrable achievements in managing/supporting change and effecting improvements in quality and efficiency.
• Experience of proactively championing diversity and inclusiveness both internally and externally.
• Evidence of ability to evaluate practice and provide a practice perspective on policy development.
• Interpret and apply performance reports

Responsibilities

• Provide effective management and leadership to the AP team at the designated site.
• Ensure delivery of good practice and improve team performance to meet policy and national standards.
• Deploy staff and resources efficiently to meet contractual requirements.
• Safeguard staff, residents, the public and premises, and respond to safety incidents.
• Influence and participate in multi-agency arrangements for public protection.
• Support and cover other teams during periods of absence and carry out standby duties as required.
• Represent the AP and engage with partners and stakeholders to maintain service quality.
