Job summary

The Ministry of Justice, Lancaster Farms establishment, is seeking an administrative specialist to support the Safer Custody and Security Intelligence teams. This permanent, non-operational post offers hybrid working within the UK and requires DBS clearance and Civil Service nationality eligibility.

You will analyse information from multiple sources, produce the monthly Safer Custody Intelligence Report, and brief on trends to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Information collation and analysis required.
• Able to deal effectively and assertively with staff at all levels.
• Strong written and spoken English; Welsh where specified may apply.
• MS Word and MS Excel proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Analyse information from multiple sources to identify and prevent safer custody issues.
• Produce the monthly Safer Custody Intelligence Report and present it at meetings.
• Use data and trend analysis to inform staff and compare establishments across the estate.
• Check information, grade its importance and recommend responses.
• Maintain intelligence systems and train staff in their use.
• Deliver in-house training on information gathering procedures (IRS/SIR) and induction for new starters.
• Liaise with other establishments, law enforcement and external agencies; share intelligence as policy allows.
• Advise managers on trends and issues and provide regular updates to line management.
• Collate monthly objectives and monitoring returns; input finance requisitions for the area.
• Maintain accurate records, databases and logs; produce reports within timescales.
• Act as team contact for communications and distribute information to stakeholders.
• Arrange meetings, prepare paperwork and minutes, and coordinate awareness sessions.
