Job summary

Ministry of Justice in the United Kingdom seeks a proactive manager to lead a cluster of Approved Premises within the National Probation Service, reporting to the Head of Public Protection. The role oversees resources, strategy, and operations while supporting other AP clusters during absences.

You will participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota and ensure health, safety, and safeguarding duties across the AP estate, working with external partners and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience at middle management level.
• Experience in managing staff through change, supervision, resource deployment, appraisals and motivation.
• Experience in monitoring performance against targets and improving outcomes.
• Experience in commissioning/procurement or contract management.
• Experience in Health and Safety and Equalities management.
• Experience working with local agencies and stakeholders to build strong relationships.
• Experience in preparing high level written reports.
• Experience evaluating practice.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate leadership and innovation in strategy and operational delivery.
• Deliver performance and quality targets.
• Manage the devolved budget for the AP Cluster and allocate resources effectively.
• Coordinate across geographical areas and delegate tasks to middle managers.
• Ensure staff contribute to risk management plans and engage with MAPPA.
• Provide advice on high-risk offender management and appropriate AP placements.
• Represent the AP cluster within the divisional management team and lead projects.
• Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to deliver outcomes for the NPS.
