Job summary

RAC Motoring Services is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician to join the SMR team in the Stevenage cluster, covering Stevenage, Hitchin, Letchworth Garden City and nearby towns. You will work on pre-booked diagnostics, routine servicing, and in-depth repairs at members’ homes or workplaces using a fully equipped RAC van and mobile diagnostics.

From day one you’ll have a clearly planned schedule, with RAC’s mobile service platform supporting parts ordering and a generous overtime/bonus structure.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic or 5+ years in the field.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
