Job summary

RAC is expanding its Mobile Mechanic team in Stevenage, covering nearby towns with pre-booked appointments. You’ll perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs on-site in members’ driveways or locations, guided by RAC standards.

The role emphasizes planned work, problem-solving, and driving a fully equipped RAC van to keep customers moving. We offer a stable, full-time 40-hour week with overtime options, a competitive base salary, and potential earnings up to £52,000.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop setting.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection results.
• Ensure vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
