Job description

In this role, you will support the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy services across dispensary and stores. Working under the supervision of a registered pharmacy professional, your key responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities
  • Dispensary Support
    • Accurately label and dispense medicines in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Assist with prescription processing and maintain accurate records on the hospital system.
    • Provide a helpful and professional service to patients and staff at the pharmacy reception.
  • Stores & Stock Management
    • Receive, check, and store pharmaceutical deliveries safely.
    • Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and rotate stock to minimise waste.
    • Pick and pack medicines for wards and clinics, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Ward Support
    • Participate in ward top-up systems to maintain stock levels.
    • Liaise with ward teams to ensure medicines are available when needed.
  • General Duties
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
    • Handle enquiries professionally and refer queries appropriately.
    • Support over-labelling and pre-packing of medicines.
    • Contribute to audits and service improvements.
    • Participate in weekend and bank holiday rotas as required.
