Job summary

Bristol NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Rota Coordinator for the General Surgery department. You will coordinate a large, multi-site workforce to ensure safe staffing across theatre lists, clinics, ward cover and on-call services.

The role requires strong IT skills, rota management experience, and the ability to work under pressure within a busy NHS environment. Part-time/0.8 WTE with some home-working is offered.

Qualifications

• General education including GSCE Maths or English.
• Advanced keyboard and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Experience using Excel and Word.
• Experience in managing rotas.
• Ability to work under pressure in a NHS setting.
• Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Excellent customer care and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Experience supervising a team and NHS environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date rota systems using Medirota, Excel and E-Rostering.
• Maintain rotas for resident doctors across Upper GI, Colorectal, Vascular, Transplant and Breast services.
• Process annual and study leave requests to ensure safe staffing levels.
• Record shift swaps and reflect changes on rotas.
• Allocate SpRs to theatre lists and ensure adequate resident cover.
• Advertise and coordinate vacant shifts via Locum’s Nest for on-call cover.
• Monitor locum timesheets and secure timely sign-off.
