Job summary

DDH Recruitment Ltd is assisting a historic coaching inn in Lavenham to recruit a Pastry Chef to lead the pastry section in a rosette-standard kitchen.

The role is full-time and permanent with a salary up to £34,000 per year and live-in accommodation available. You will craft desserts, breads and afternoon tea items, develop seasonal menus with the Head Chef, and ensure top quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or strong Pastry Chef de Partie ready to step up.
• Rosette or fine dining experience strongly preferred
• Strong classical pastry skills, with bread and chocolate work a plus
• A real eye for detail and consistent presentation
• Organised, calm and able to work on your own
• Level 2 Food Safety or above

Responsibilities

• Run the pastry section and deliver every dessert to a rosette standard
• Make breads, petits fours, ice creams and afternoon tea items in house
• Help develop seasonal desserts and new dishes with the Head Chef
• Plan prep, ordering and stock for the pastry section
• Keep food safety, hygiene and allergen records up to date
• Train and support junior chefs on pastry
